Job description

Due to current growth, we are recruiting for a Medical Director - Behavioral Health Services to support the buildup of our practice in order to offer even more personalized care to the patients we serve. This position will be based in the Princeton/Beckley, WV region.

Job Overview

The Behavioral Health Medical Director will develop strategies to scale the practice. The ideal candidate should be entrepreneurial-minded to handle administrative functions. You will be part of an innovative care model that combines traditional bedside manner with advanced technology to significantly improve patient outcomes.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement comprehensive Behavioral Health programs, policies, and procedures in compliance with regulations, aligned with post-acute and long-term care practices.
2. Participate in hiring and building a Behavioral Health team supporting over 100 skilled nursing facilities across 7 states.
3. Coordinate medical care, manage emergency procedures, liaise with attending physicians, and oversee quality of care.
4. Provide Behavioral Health services within skilled nursing facilities and clinic environments.

Qualifications

• M.D. or D.O. required
• ABPN board certification preferred
• Experience in Geriatric Psychiatry, Adult Psychiatry, and Substance Use Disorder required
• Valid MD or DO license
• 5+ years experience with long-term care populations preferred
• Experience working with and educating NPs, LISWs, and Psychologists

Preferred Qualifications

• Healthcare management or leadership experience
• Knowledge of CMS, Medicare Advantage, SNP regulations
• Experience with inpatient/SNF utilization metrics and bed management
• Familiarity with state-specific practice agreements and licensing for midlevel practitioners
• Proficiency with EMR systems
