HealthDrive is seeking a full-time Medical Director/Attending Physician to lead medical operations for skilled nursing facilities. This on-site position involves collaboration with on-site Nurse Practitioners, guiding care plans, and participating in quality initiatives to promote best health practices.

Salary starts at $375,000 per year. Benefits include flexible schedules, no nights or on-calls, malpractice insurance coverage, and billing/administrative support.

Qualifications

• Candidate must hold a valid medical license in NH and be willing to obtain ME licensure.
• Board certification or equivalent residency training in medicine.
• Active DEA license and experience with geriatric care.
• Certified Medical Director or willingness to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Medical Director/Attending Physician for SNFs/Rehabs and participate in quality initiatives.
• Attend monthly quality assurance/regulatory meetings and quarterly staff meetings.
• Supervise facility clinical staff and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Collaborate with Nurse Practitioners to manage daily resident care and care plans.
• Provide high quality, patient-centered primary care by rounding on residents.

Overview

HealthDrive is looking for a full-time Medical Director/Attending Physician to handle new admissions and collaborate with Nurse Practitioners that are attending to skilled nursing residents in both the sub-acute rehab and long-term care units. The Medical Director will promote good health practices and work collaboratively as a member of the medical staff. This is an on-site position (NOT remote).

Responsibilities

• The physician will serve as the Medical Director or Attending Physician for skilled nursingfacilities/rehabs and will participate in administrative and quality initiatives for assigned facilities
• Medical Director will attend and participate in monthly quality assurance/regulatory meetingsand quarterly staff meetings
• The Medical Director will participate in quality improvement initiatives, provide guidance tofacility staff, oversee clinical care plans, compliance with state and federal regulations, andsupervise facility clinical staff
• The physician collaborates with Nurse Practitioners to manage the daily care for each resident ateach facility. Each facility will have a full-time NP assigned to the facility depending on the acuityand volume of the patient population
• The Medical Director will provide high quality, patient-centered, comprehensive primary careservices by rounding on patients residing in SNFs/Rehabs

Qualifications

• Candidate must hold a valid medical license in the states of NH and be willing to get ME licensure.
• Candidate must hold a valid DEA/Controlled Substance License in the state of practice
• Candidate must have completed a valid U.S. residency program
• Candidate must have completed a medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
• Candidate must have a Certified Medical Director certificate or be willing to get one
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with on-site staff
• Effective communication skills with the geriatric or Medicare population
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Ability to use email, the internet, and to learn other healthcare related software

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to move inside a facility frequently and walk briskly in order to see patients, meet with managers/facility staff and attend to patient needs
• Ability to document in an EMR system on a laptop computer
• Ability to ascend and descend stairs in a facility
• Some ability to position oneself to obtain records, tools, medical equipment and other items that may be in locations that are below the knee or above the shoulder
• Effectively communicate with patients, nurse practitioners, and facility staff in English
• Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds
