O’Connor Road Animal Hospital in San Antonio, TX seeks an experienced veterinarian to step into a Medical Director role, leading a collaborative team while delivering high-quality medicine in a well-equipped hospital.

With 4+ years in small animal practice and a passion for mentorship, leadership, and soft tissue surgeries, you will shape medical standards and partner with the Hospital Manager to guide 2 doctors and staff across a 4-day workweek with rotating Saturdays.

Qualifications

• DVM graduate of an AVMA-accredited CVM or ECFVG/PAVE-certified.
• 4+ years of experience practicing as a DVM in small animal GP or hybrid.
• Strong clinician with mentorship, leadership, and medical excellence; soft tissue surgeries interest preferred.
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach with strong staff and client relationship skills.
• Strategic mindset to support operations and team development in partnership with Hospital Manager.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 2 full-time veterinarians and support staff.
• Uphold medical standards of care and cultivate a positive, growth-oriented culture.
• Allocate approximately 90% clinical and 10% administrative/leadership duties.
• Oversee scheduling and hospital operations in collaboration with management.

O’Connor Road Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced veterinarian to step into a Medical Director role at our well-established, multi-doctor practice in San Antonio, TX. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a collaborative team while continuing to practice high-quality medicine in a supportive and well-equipped environment. We are a busy, full-service small animal hospital offering primary care, surgeries, and limited urgent care. Our team is passionate about preventative medicine, client education, and delivering excellent patient care.

Medical Director - Qualifications and Responsibilities:

• Estimated time allocation: 90% clinical, 10% administrative/leadership responsibilities
• Schedule : 4 days per week and rotating 1/2 Saturdays
