A growing, small animal GP hospital in north San Antonio, TX is seeking an Associate Veterinarian.
This modern, full-service hospital prides itself on providing doctors full medical autonomy over their caseload. The team's guiding focus is on building a genuinely positive work environment, with a happy, engaged staff being one of the biggest draws for doctors who join.
The hospital is looking to welcome an Associate Veterinarian on either a full time or part time basis, with the flexibility to also pick up occasional days at a nearby sister location for those who would enjoy broader clinical exposure.
The facility is well equipped for modern general practice medicine, featuring an in house laboratory suite, digital x-ray, high speed dental with dental x-ray, ultrasound, and cold laser therapy. Designated dog and cat exam rooms, a dedicated surgical suite, and an isolation ward round out the clinical space, while the hospital also offers full service amenities including daycare, boarding, and professional grooming.
Heavy quarterly profit-sharing bonus for the entire team (20%-25% of profit is paid back to the hospital staff) promoting teamwork and providing opportunity to thank each team member for their contribution to the hospital’s success.
The hospital regularly hosts adoption day events, covering adoption fees on behalf of a local rescue group to help pets find their forever homes. These events double as a great team building opportunity for staff and a meaningful way to connect with the local community.
Another element of the role that sets them apart is that they provide a monthly discretionary fund available per Veterinarian to support hardship cases, giving doctors a meaningful way to help pets and families in difficult circumstances avoiding unnecessary euthanasia.
Doctors are well supported day to day, with a 6:1 staff to doctor ratio and technicians handling record entry, invoicing, client education, and treatment administration. A central support team manages HR, accounting, marketing, and administration, while field operations support is also on hand, allowing doctors to focus on practicing medicine. New graduates are warmly welcomed, with excellent 1:1 mentorship and ongoing support with guaranteed first year income and a flexible, transparent schedule.
