Job summary

Boston Scientific in Maple Grove, MN is seeking a Research and Development Engineering Intern to support the development and testing of an ultrasound-based ablation catheter used for Renal Denervation. This role targets students or recent graduates interested in medical device innovation.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team—R&D, Process Development, Design Quality—perform design, prototyping, testing, data analysis, and document results to share with project teams.

Qualifications

• Must graduate Fall 2027 – Spring 2029.
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Must commit to one of the full internship periods: May 17–Aug 6 OR May 24–Aug 13.
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Must have reliable transportation to Maple Grove, MN (Arbor Lakes).

Responsibilities

• Assist in design, prototyping, and testing of single-use catheters including therapy catheter and access sheaths.
• Design and conduct laboratory experiments and mechanical tests.
• Analyze data from test results and draw conclusions.
• Document methods, results, and insights in clear reports and present findings to cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with R&D, Process Development, Design Quality, and Capital Equipment partners for system alignment.
