Job summary

Medical Device Company in Franklin Lakes, NJ seeks a Packaging Engineer for a 12+ month contract (W2). First shift, 40 hours/week, pay rate $30-$40/hr.

The incumbent will develop packaging designs, test concepts, and mature them for production, collaborating with Operations, R&D, and Quality to improve efficiency, quality, and cost. Requires SolidWorks, packaging design experience, and medical device packaging knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline required.
• Minimum of 3 years of packaging engineering experience.
• Experience in healthcare/high-volume manufacturing preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office, 3D modeling tools, and SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of FDA GMP/QSR environment desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement packaging solutions for new and existing products.
• Lead development of new product packaging solutions.
• Select packaging materials in conjunction with R&D.
• Choose manufacturing processes and equipment for packaging production.
• Develop technical strategies to accomplish project goals.
• Provide expert guidance to senior leadership on packaging topics.
• Serve as packaging technology SME on project teams.
• Develop automated packaging equipment specifications.
• Focus on robust manufacturability of packaging.
• Apply Six Sigma and lean manufacturing to packaging lines.
• Independently manage budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
• Present project status to senior leadership.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
