Lexington Medical, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Co-Op in Bedford, MA. The six-month, full-time role sits with the R&D team on real product development for the AEON Endostapler. You will work across CAD, lab, and machine shop, gaining experience from concept to documentation under a small team.

The position emphasizes hands-on design, testing, fixture development, and DFM documentation to support FDA and internal audits.

Qualifications

Currently enrolled at an accredited university as an undergraduate or graduate student in Mechanical Engineering.
Prior internship, co-op, or substantial hands-on project experience in engineering or manufacturing.
Able to read and create engineering drawings with GD&T basics.
Comfortable working with machines such as mills, lathes, band saws, and belt sanders.
Experience with 3D printing is a plus; machining or metal stamping exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design and revise components and drawings per Lexington Medical standards.
Design test fixtures and fabricate them via outsourcing or rapid prototyping.
Plan and run tests; write protocols and reports documenting findings.
Operate lab equipment (mills, lathes, test stands, 3D printers) with supervision.
Perform dimensional/functional checks using calipers, micrometers, and comparators.
Complete documentation to meet FDA and internal audit requirements.
