Job summary

Confluent Medical Technologies is seeking a Manufacturing Technical Writer in Austin, TX to develop, revise, and maintain clear, technically accurate documentation supporting engineering, manufacturing, quality, and product lifecycle activities for medical devices.

You will work with Process Development Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain to translate complex engineering knowledge into operator-ready instructions and ensure compliance with QMS and ERP requirements.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of technical writing in manufacturing or regulated environments.
• Experience creating or maintaining controlled technical documentation such as SOPs, work instructions, specifications, or reports.
• Ability to translate complex engineering information into operator-ready instructions and collaborate with engineers.
• Familiarity with QMS, document control, and cross-functional review processes.

Responsibilities

• Shadow engineers to capture processes and create clear work instructions.
• Develop, revise, and standardize manufacturing documentation and procedures.
• Review and simplify documents for production operators.
• Support ERP part creation, purchasing specifications, and related records.
• Ensure documentation complies with quality, regulatory, ERP, and risk-management requirements.
• Route documents through approvals and release workflows.
