First Databank (FDB) seeks a Medical Device Coder to join the Quality department in Carmel, IN. The role focuses on researching FDA- and manufacturer-published data to generate unbiased HCPCS content for medical devices.

The position follows a hybrid model, with onsite expectation at least three days per week. Responsibilities include maintaining HCPCS mappings, training staff, and ensuring accuracy through data audits and CMS updates.

Qualifikationen

• 2–3 years medical coding experience in a healthcare setting.
• Experience with HCPCS Level II codes (A-, C-, E-codes).
• Active coding certification (CPC/COC/CCS) from AAPC/AHIMA.

Aufgaben

• Research HCPCS codes from manufacturers, CMS, and other sources to build device content.
• Update and maintain HCPCS library and mappings.
• Train staff on coding processes and HCPCS updates.
• Ensure codes are accurate with data audits and CMS changes.
• Follow ethical coding standards and use of AI tools with validation.
