Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 am - 5 pm

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Equipment Delivery Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering and setting up equipment at the customer's location, and educating patients and/or caregivers on the safe use and maintenance of the equipment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and educate patients on the safe use and maintenance of respiratory and HME equipment in home or office settings.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety equipment and services.
• Assist in resolving customer equipment problems under emergency conditions.
• Support quality improvement programs to meet company and JCAHO standards.
• Participate in on-call responsibilities during non-business hours as per company policy.
• Report vehicle problems or conditions that could affect safe operation to the supervisor.
• Complete shipping papers when transporting hazardous materials, following company policies.
• Maintain accurate written reports of patient visits, setups, and follow-ups.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of current HME products, services, and relevant regulations.
• Understand reimbursement processes and document all necessary information.
• Develop technical knowledge of HME or respiratory products as appropriate.
• Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the assigned company vehicle.
• Keep delivery activity records up to date.
• Maintain home oxygen systems in patients' homes following company policies.
• Manage territory to meet service goals, delivering equipment and oxygen per industry standards and regulations.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records, including invoices, work orders, and logs.
• Report hazards or incidents related to equipment or products as required.
• Travel via company vehicle to patient homes for setups and recurring deliveries.

Qualifications

• Background check and drug screening required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with medical equipment and terminology preferred.
• At least one year of related work experience preferred.
• Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written.
• Ability to demonstrate proper loading, unloading, and securing procedures for cargo.
• Understanding of home respiratory equipment and supplies.
• Ability to lift at least 65 pounds and transport patient equipment.
• Potential exposure to contagious pathogens during patient contact.
• Must drive a company vehicle, typically a van provided by the company.
• Compliance with Respiratory Protection & N95 Mask Fit Testing policies, including annual recertification and facial hair requirements for mask seal.
