Job summary

Carrus Health in New York seeks an experienced Health Information Management coder to perform ICD-10 CM diagnosis and procedure coding, abstracting records, and discharge analysis.

The role supports release of information, performance improvement (PI), and medical record review, while maintaining surveillance of incomplete and delinquent records and ensuring coding accuracy for Medicare/DRG, CMG, and APC systems.

Qualifications

• Two years' Health Information Management coding experience in an acute care facility.
• Coding software experience preferred.
• Understanding of Medicare/DRG, CMG, and APC systems is preferred.

• Responsible for IC-10-PCS and CPT/HCPCS, and discharge analysis.
• Assists with compiling statistical reports, performs release of information, PI, and medical record review, and maintains surveillance of incomplete and delinquent records status.

Qualifications:

• Two years' Health Information Management coding experience in an acute care facility or completion of HIM education program is preferred.
• Coding software experience is preferred.
• Understanding of Medicare/DRG, CMG, and APC systems is preferred.

License and Certifications:

• AAPC-CPC, COC or AHIMA-CCA, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT or equivalent is preferred.
