This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE position that is 100% remote. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. Applicants hired into this position can work from most states, which will be discussed during the interview process.

Position: Medical Coding Specialist II
Responsibilities include:
- Utilize encoder, grouper software, and other coding resources to determine appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes, including specialty-specific and E&M codes.
- Apply knowledge of NCCI, LCD/NCD directives, MUEs, and Medicare guidelines to select appropriate codes and modifiers, ensuring compliance with regulatory and institutional standards.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and medical coding education required, or an active coding certification in lieu of education.
- Associate's Degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
Work Experience:
- At least 1 year of progressive coding experience required (experience specific to HCC if applicable).
- Preference for 2 years of coding experience across multiple specialties, including HCC risk adjustment coding.
Licenses & Certifications:
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist Physician-Based (CCS-P), Certified Coding Associate (CCA), Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) required upon hire. Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) and Administrator (RHIA) are preferred.
