Medical Coding Specialist II – Vascular/CT/TXP/Burn and IP Professional Surgery (Finance)
Work Schedule : This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE position that is 100% remote. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. Applicants hired into this position can work from most states, which will be discussed during the interview process.

Position Overview
We are seeking a Medical Coding Specialist II to:
- Utilize encoder, grouper software, and other coding resources to determine appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes, including specialty-specific and E&M codes.
- Apply knowledge of NCCI, LCD/NCD directives, MUEs, and Medicare guidelines to select correct codes and modifiers, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and institutional policies.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent and medical coding education OR active coding certification.
- Associate's Degree in a healthcare-related field is preferred.
Work Experience
- At least 1 year of progressive coding experience (HCC-specific roles require experience in HCC).
- Preferred: 2 years of coding experience across multiple specialties, including HCC risk adjustment.
Licenses & Certifications
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist Physician-Based (CCS-P), Certified Coding Associate (CCA), Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) upon hire are required.
- Preferred: RHIT or RHIA certifications.
