Medical Coding Specialist II – Inpatient

Join UW Health, the #1 hospital in Wisconsin, as a Medical Coding Specialist II - Inpatient. This full-time, 100% remote position offers flexibility to work from most states, with specific eligibility discussed during the interview process. Responsibilities include:

1. Determining and assigning ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes, including present on admission indicators, and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes following official guidelines and based on knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and disease processes.
2. Identifying cases requiring provider documentation clarification or specificity to ensure accurate coding; collaborating with the Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDIS) team and physicians as part of documentation validation and query workflows.
