Job summary

Patient First seeks a Coding & Reimbursement Analyst in Glen Allen, VA to lead coding reviews and provide training on ICD-10 and E&M coding guidelines. The role requires CPC/CCS-P credentials and solid auditing experience, with a focus on compliance and accurate billing support.

You will monitor guideline changes, participate in committee meetings, and support other departments with coding-related questions while contributing to quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Certified coding credentials required (CPC and/or CCS-P).
• CPMA credential a plus.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT (including E&M) and HCPCS.
• Two years’ medical coding experience preferred.
• Understanding of compliance laws and medical terminology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask; able to work independently or in a team.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Complete periodic reviews of Physicians’ and Physician Extenders’ charts.
• Prepare and distribute feedback after the review process.
• Coordinate and train Physicians and Physician Extenders on E&M and ICD-10 coding.
• Ensure ICD-10, CPT (including E&M), and HCPCS coding is performed properly.
• Monitor changes in coding guidelines and report to Compliance Coding Committee.
• Attend Coding Compliance Committee meetings and training classes.
• Perform occasional audits and assist other departments with coding questions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
