Qualifications

• Experience assigning ICD-10-CM and CPT codes for professional services is required or preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and documentation are essential.

Responsibilities

• Review medical records to determine ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 coding required for billing and reimbursement.
• Verify data in medical records and accurately abstract information for charge entry.
• Apply CPT-4 and ICD-10 coding standards for principal procedures and related diagnoses.
• Edit unbilled claim transmission reports to ensure accuracy and timely billing.
• Participate in quality coding and audit reviews for providers.
• Assist physicians and other coders with coding questions and research as needed.
• Communicate with office manager and CDI supervisor on pending items and questions.
• Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and safety standards; participate in education assignments.
