Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking a Medical Coding Auditing Specialist to support the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Medical Coding Program Branch.

You will conduct routine audits across DHA markets, including MTFs and dental clinics, and help develop annual audit plans to improve coding accuracy and compliance. The role requires extensive knowledge of ICD-CM, CPT, HCPCS, DRGs, and PPS, plus experience with government guidelines and revenue-cycle processes.

Qualifications

• Proficient in ICD-CM, PCS, HCPCS, and CPT coding conventions.
• Knowledge of PPS, DRGs, APCs, and RBRVS.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Experience with government coding guidelines, compliance, and audits.
• Familiar with revenue cycle management within healthcare environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine audits of DHA MTFs and dental clinics.
• Assist in developing an annual DHA-MCPB audit work plan.
• Conduct targeted coding and documentation audits as directed.
• Support audits used for government surveillance of DHA contracts.
