VECRA is seeking Full-Time and Part-Time Medical Coder III - Inpatient Medical Coder. VECRA, Inc. requires professional Medical Coders who are current Certified Medical Coders, Certified Coding Specialists (CCS), CCS-P, CPC, Registered Health Information Administrators (RHIA), or Registered Health Information Technicians (RHIT). Candidates should have recent experience in coding, recoding, abstracting, analyzing, and assembling medical record data.
The role involves accurately assigning ICD-10 CM, E/M, ICD-10 PCS, CPT, HCPCS, modifiers, and units based on provider documentation. The coder must follow applicable systems and software for various encounter types, including outpatient, emergency, surgeries, inpatient stays, and rounds. Access to relevant systems will be provided based on the encounter type.
Applicants must have knowledge of ICD, CPT, HCPCS Level II or III code sets, and guidelines, using accepted resources to review documentation and provider scope of practice. Coding accuracy should be at least 95%, monitored regularly, and meet performance timelines. Work is remote, requiring independence, flexibility, and good communication skills. Candidates must have a secure workspace, high-speed internet, and maintain required training and certifications, including ICD-10 certification through AAPC or AHIMA.
Minimum experience includes 5 years in multiple specialties or 3 years in military treatment facilities, with documented specialty performance.
