• Successful passage of coding exam with 80% or higher.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes, sequences and validates assigned codes using encoder and resources.
• Codes diagnoses, procedures, level codes and modifiers based on documentation.
• Enters demographics and clinical data into computer system.
• Queries physicians to obtain additional documentation for accurate coding.
• Maintains at least 95% accuracy and adheres to productivity standards.
• Mentors new coding personnel and supports ongoing education.
