We are seeking an experienced Remote Inpatient Medical Coderto join our team and ensure accurate and compliant coding of inpatient facility records. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ICD-10-CM/PCS coding and DRG assignment, with recent hands-on experience in inpatient coding. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and familiarity with industry-standard coding tools and guidelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review and analyze inpatient medical records to assign accurate ICD-10-CM/PCS codes and determine the appropriate DRG
• Ensure compliance with official coding guidelines and payer-specific requirements
• Maintain a high level of accuracy and consistency in coding to support proper billing and reimbursement
• Utilize EPIC and 3M systems to access clinical documentation and assign codes (if experienced)
• Communicate effectively with team members and leadership regarding documentation clarification and coding issues
• Stay current with coding updates, regulatory changes, and organizational policies

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 3 years of recent inpatient facility coding experience (within the last 6 months)
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS and MS-DRG/APR-DRG assignment
• AHIMA or AAPC certification required (e.g., CCS, CIC, CPC preferred)
• Proven track record of accuracy and compliance with official coding guidelines
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Experience with EPIC and 3M encoder systems preferred
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision
