TEKsystems in Saint Paul, MN is seeking a contract Medical Coder to translate medical records into ICD/HCPCS/ CPT codes for insurer claims.

Role emphasizes attention to detail, independent work, and collaboration with diverse teams in a remote setting. Entry-level position with ongoing credential maintenance and regulatory compliance.

Job Summary:

Reviews a patients medical records after a visit or procedure to translate

information into appropriate diagnostic, and procedural codes that insurers use

to process claims.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Level I, II, & III Coder must have proficient knowledge in medical terminology and codes, hospital policies, and government regulations.
• Must have clear communication and active listening skills to interact with a diverse staff and diverse functions.
• Position requires problem solving skills for both straightforward and complex coding concerns.
• Must be well-versed in conflict management and stay level-headed and positive during stressful situations.
• Must have an attention to detail in order to accurately identify coding and billing errors.
• As an independent worker, this position requires organizational and time management skills to maintain workload and productivity.
• Must be able to adapt to an ever-changing role with evolving responsibilities.
• Coder must be able to collaborate with others and work as a team.
• Must be proactive in setting up oneself for success to ensure tasks get done on time and with minimal supervision.
• Personal computer experience using data base, spreadsheets, and word processing software.
• Understanding of physiology, anatomy, and medical terms.
• All Levels Must maintain credentials throughout employment.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• All Levels - ICD-10: one (1)-year coding experience.
• Medical Field: one (1)-year experience.

This is a Contract position based out of Saint Paul, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
