Job summary

HealthFirst Bluegrass in Lexington, KY seeks a Medical Coder to ensure accurate coding for CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM. You will support compliant billing, reimbursement, and high-quality patient care by partnering with providers and clinical staff.

The ideal candidate has CPC or CCS certification, at least 3 years of coding or billing experience, and strong knowledge of payer requirements. Excellent attention to detail and communication are essential; experience with FQHC or primary care coding

• CPC or CCS certification required.
• At least 3 years of medical coding and/or billing experience.
• Strong knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10-CM, Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and communication abilities.
• Experience with FQHC, primary care, behavioral health, or dental coding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and code patient encounters for accurate claim submission
• Audit documentation for compliance and coding accuracy
• Collaborate with providers and staff to resolve coding questions and discrepancies
• Assist with claim edits, denials, and reimbursement-related coding issues
• Provide coding guidance and education to clinical teams
