Seeking a Certified Nurse Aide to assist the RN/Manager of Medical Services in all functions of City Mission’s medical clinic. To provide basic medical assessment and care to in-house City Mission residents and eligible community members.
DUTIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
- Responsible for managing the patient flow related to clinic operations (signing in, waiting room maintenance, doctor day patient scheduling, etc.)
- Completing patient check-in tasks (taking/recording vitals, reason for visit, recording patient health record in progress note, etc.)
- Faxing all prescriptions and assisting RN/Manager of Medical Services with pharmacy communication as needed
- Responsible for all patient data entry into Mission Tracker database for outcomes tracking
- Assemble new health record charts and other clerical office tasks as assigned
- Assist with medication reconciliation checks for all resident patients
- Maintain filing and organization of all patient health records
- Keep treatment rooms stocked with all supplies for volunteer doctors, assist in supply inventory management
- Sanitize and clean all patient rooms after each visit
- Receptionist duties as assigned, including maintaining reception area and answering phones professionally
- Distribute flyers/communicate medical clinic updates and announcements throughout City Mission and the community
- Assist patients with application process for DPW insurance benefits upon program entry and through completion of task
- Provide individual patient care, tailored to each person’s unique needs, for medication management and locker assistance, pharmacy refill management, ADLs, scheduling of tests, etc. as needed for those with special needs
- Assist RN/Manager of Medical Services in medical intake process as directed
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Mature Christian with a heart to minister to those experiencing homelessness while exercising compassion and discernment
- Culturally competent in working with special populations who have often experienced many inconsistencies and gaps in medical care and complex medical histories
- Strong clinical skills in above areas of assessment and service provision with individuals with chronic and often co-occuring conditions
- Strong sense of professionalism and confident in working independently
- Strong organizational skills, emphasis on documentation and detail management
- Strong interpersonal skills, effectively able to communicate with diverse teams in order to meet resident needs and facilitate overall health and wellness of the organization
- Knowledge of the healthcare provider community and how it functions
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Must have a current Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) license/proof of registration
3+ years of experience in nurse aide field
Previous experience working with homeless populations desired
