Job summary

TheStaff Pad is partnering with a healthcare organization in Manchester, TN to hire an Insurance Clerk for their Billing Department. You will support insurance and patient account operations by ensuring accurate information, timely processing, and efficient coordination of insurance-related activities.

As a full-time position, you will handle claims submission, payer inquiries, and patient billing adjustments, while maintaining compliance with policies and regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience with medical claims and insurance processing preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance coverage and payer requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage patient accounts and billing adjustments.
• Familiarity with remittance processing and claim rebilling.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Empathy and professionalism when assisting patients.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to follow policies, procedures, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit accurate claims to payers using proper methodology.
• Address inquiries regarding claims and insurance coverage.
• Make necessary adjustments, corrections, and changes to patient accounts.
• Rebill claims as required and process remittance advice.
• Respond to payer requests to support timely payments.
• Offer self-pay patients appropriate options, including financial applications and deposits.
• Work with minimal supervision following written and verbal instructions.
• Maintain familiarity with the organization and functions of all units.
• Demonstrate effective communication, empathy, and positive patient interactions.
• Establish measurable annual goals and objectives.
• Ensure compliance with departmental policies, procedures, and regulations.
