Job summary

Central Louisiana Surgical Hospital is seeking a qualified Biller to generate insurance claims and patient statements in a timely, accurate manner in accordance with Facility policies.

The role reports to the Business Office Manager, is non-exempt, and requires at least two years of hospital billing experience, with preference for automated billing systems. You will work in a office environment handling claims and reporting as needed.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years experience in hospital or medical facility business office.
• Automated billing system experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards to ensure systematic, consistent and timely filing of hospital claims.
• Ensures claims pass edits for correctness per payor requirements.
• Ensures unbilled claims are reviewed for correctness.
• Meets all standards set forth in Key Performance Indicators adopted by the Facility.
• Maintains current information on claims adjudication and payment policies on all third party payors and government intermediaries.
• Files Secondary claims to appropriate insurers.
• Provides management reports to the Business Office Manager as requested.
• Assumes other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
• Comply with facility Standards of Behavior and complete all required education assignments within the designated timeline.
• Reports regularly to the Business Office Manager about the status of current projects or workflow.
