Job summary

You will work with Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payers, ensuring accurate processing and HIPAA-compliant handling of information.

You will review payer edits, correct errors, monitor rejections, and help coordinate medical records while supporting the patient accounting team and supervisors in improving billing

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of healthcare billing, collections, payment processing, and denial management.
• Able to handle patient information confidentially and professionally.

Responsibilities

• Submit hospital claims electronically and monitor status daily.
• Process insurance claims to third-party payers and correct edits.
• Review electronic payer edits and fix errors for accuracy.
• Monitor claim rejections and report trends to supervisor.
• Prepare and submit manual claims for non-electronic payers.
• Coordinate medical record requests as needed.
• Document billing activity and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Collaborate with staff to improve processes and accuracy.
• Uphold best practices in billing, follow-up, and customer service.
• Adhere to HIPAA and other regulations protecting patient information.
