Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a dedicated Security Officer to protect patients, staff and visitors at Mount Sinai Morningside. You will staff posts, patrol the campus, and respond to incidents to deter loss and ensure safety.

Responsibilities include access control, directing traffic, escorts within the Medical Center, and timely reporting. HS/GED is required and NYS licensure as Security Officer is preferred.

Qualifications

• HS/GED required.
• Experience in security or law enforcement preferred.
• NYS Security Officer licensure preferred (NYS Department of State).

Responsibilities

• Staff posts, patrol areas, investigate unusual occurrences to protect people and property.
• Respond to emergencies and requests for service, including team 7000s, restraints and patient observations.
• Conduct access control by checking IDs, screening visitors, and clearing areas after visiting hours.
• Direct vehicle traffic to prevent congestion and keep ambulance bays clear.
• Offer assistance to visitors and patients and detain unauthorized individuals.
• Perform security escorts within the Medical Center to parking lots or staff residences.
• Escort funds and valuables to the Cashier.
• Submit timely, complete security reports.
• Perform related security, general office or record keeping tasks per procedures.
