Job summary

The Executive Director - Medical Center (EDMC) has full delegated line authority and responsibility for executive level management of a VA health care facility. This role oversees planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, controlling, reviewing, and improving medical, administrative, and supporting operations for a large geographic area.

Qualifications

• Basic requirements include U.S. citizenship, proficiency in English, and medical degree from LCME-accredited or AOA-approved schools.
• Licensure to practice medicine or surgery in the United States, with current full and unrestricted license.
• Residency training approved by VA for core specialty training leading to board certification eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive level management for a VA health care facility, planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, controlling, reviewing, evaluating, and improving operations across medical, administrative and support services.
• Direct development and implementation of programs to improve patient care and ensure compliance with accrediting and regulatory standards.
• Establish local policies, organize program evaluation, and maintain relationships with community groups and providers.
