Job summary

First Choice Community Health Centers in Lillington, NC is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist to manage billing and collections for Medicare, Medicaid, and insured/self-pay patients across medical and dental clinics. This on-site role reports to the Billing Supervisor and involves posting payments, following up on denials, and ensuring accurate coding in the EHS system.

• High School diploma required.
• Associates Degree in Medical Billing and Coding preferred or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of two years progressive billing experience required.
• Experience with third-party billings and denials a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide billing information by collecting and summarizing third-party billings and payments.
• Post cash receipts and insurance payments to EHS software.
• Research and follow up on insurance denials and balance issues.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations and reports.
• Maintain accurate ICD-9, CPT and HCPCS codes in the system.
• Cover vacancies in related roles as needed.
