Job summary

West Coast Infectious Diseases is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist in Florida to ensure accurate billing, maximize reimbursement, and support the billing department. You will handle insurance verification, posting payments, and follow up with payers to resolve claims.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of medical billing experience with coding and familiarity with HMO/PPO plans, Medicare/Medicaid rules, and HIPAA compliance. Strong communication and MS Office skills are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience with coding, auditing, HMO and PPO familiarity.
• Customer service driven with excellent telephone skills.
• Basic Medicare and Medical Terminology knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Verify and resolve insurance claims.
• Handle billing inquiries and follow up on unpaid claims.
• Assist in other billing department duties as needed.
• Communicate with clients, reimbursement vendors, and external entities.
