Job summary

MD Billing, based in Lubbock, TX, is seeking a Coding Specialist to join our growing medical billing team. You will collaborate with providers and staff to ensure timely billing, perform multi-specialty coding, and manage end-to-end claim processing within an EMR system.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of experience, CPC/AHIMA certification preferred, and solid knowledge of CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10-CM guidelines.

Qualifications

• Experience with multi-specialty coding and payer guidelines.
• Proficient in CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding.
• Knowledge of LCD/NCD and NCCI edits is a plus.
• Experience in end-to-end claim processing including denials.

Responsibilities

• Billing and coding for multiple specialties.
• Handle end-to-end claim process: coding, rejections, denials.
• Work with EMR to ensure charge capture and sequencing.
• Educate providers to ensure timely billing.
• Review documentation to assign accurate codes.
• Participate in denial management and coding edit processes.

Currently, we service facilities and providers in over 14 states, consisting of multiple specialties including Cardiovascular, Wound Care and Family Medicine. Specific Responsibilities of the Job:

• Work closely with providers and staff to ensure timely billing processes.
• Ability to effectively communicate with and educate providers as needed.
• Billing and Coding for multiple specialties (preferred).
• Ability to work End to End claim process: Coding, Rejections, Denials
• Work within the EMR system to ensure charge capture and sequencing.
• Reviewing and interpreting provider documentation.
• Billing and Coding according to payer and facility guidelines.
• Ability to identify and code to Local Coverage Determinations and CPT Guidelines.
• Ability to uphold to all MD Billing coding metrics and guidelines.
• Following up on needed coding edits.
• Working with billing team to ensure proper billing and coding processes.
• Ability to handle workload or daily productivity.
• Performs all other related duties as assigned.
• Commitment to continuing education.

QualificationsSkill Set:

• Experience with multi-specialty coding
• Experience in E/M and Procedural Coding
• Current certification CPC, AHIMA etc. (preferred)
• Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM.
• Knowledge of current coding guidelines.
• Knowledge in LCD, NCD and NCCI edits
• Knowledge of different payers and policies e.g., Medicare, HMO, PPO, Medicare Advantage Plans etc.
• EMR experience (eClinical preferred)
• Knowledge of medical practice revenue cycle processes.
• Denial management and coding edit processes.
• Ability to identify and track trends
• Ability to analyze documentation and assign appropriate codes.
• Ability to work independently with a high degree of attention to detail and reliable decision making.
• Strong analytical skills.
• High school diploma or GED.

Schedule:

Monday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PM

Work setting:

Office (If in Lubbock,TX area)
