Wound Centrics in Lubbock, TX is seeking a MD Billing Specialist responsible for end-to-end billing for Family Medicine providers, including claim coding/submission, denial management, and payer communications. You will work in an EMR (eClinical) to ensure accurate charge capture and sequencing.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of family practice coding experience, CPC certification preferred, knowledge of CPT/HCPCS/ ICD-10-CM, and strong attention to detail to meet timely appeals and payment

Qualifications

Two to five years of experience in a family practice billing setting.
CPC or AHIMA certification preferred.
Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM.
EMR experience, eClinical preferred.
Ability to analyze documentation and assign codes.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

Full end-to-end billing process for Family Medicine providers.
Claim coding and submission.
Handling rejected and denied claims.
Collaborate with providers and staff to ensure timely billing.
Use EMR to ensure charge capture and sequencing.
Review and interpret medical documentation for coding.
Billing and coding per payer and facility guidelines.
Follow up coding edits as needed.
Manage denial appeals before deadlines.

Specific Responsibilities of the Job

Responsible for full end to end process of Family Medicine providers assigned.
Claim Coding and Submission
Rejected Claims
Denied Claims
Work closely with providers and staff to ensure timely billing processes.
Work within the EMR system to ensure charge capture and sequencing.
Reviewing and interpreting documentation.
Billing and Coding according to payer and facility guidelines.
Following up on needed coding edits.
Working denied claims to ensure appeal deadline is not exceeded.
Working with billing team to ensure proper billing and coding processes.
Ability to handle workload or daily productivity.
Responsible for providing coding support to the Billing Team.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.

QualificationsSkill Set

Two to Five years of experience in family practice facility (preferred)
Current certification CPC, AHIMA etc. (preferred)
Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM
Knowledge of E/M coding guidelines including outpatient, CCM, Annual Wellness etc.
Knowledge in LCD, NCD and NCCI edits
Extensive knowledge with different payer guidelines e.g., Medicare, HMO, PPO, Medicare Advantage Plans etc.
EMR experience (eClinical preferred)
Knowledge of medical practice revenue processes.
Denial management and coding edit processes.
Ability to analyze documentation and assign appropriate codes.
Ability to work independently with a high degree of attention to detail and reliable decision making.
