Job summary

Bloom Healthcare, a 100% remote medical practice, is seeking a billing specialist to submit and follow up on claims and manage A/R. You will review EOBs/ERAs, post payments, investigate discrepancies, and prepare appeals with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers.

You’ll also answer the billing line and assist patients with questions while using payer portals and EHR systems. The role requires 2+ years in medical billing, familiarity with ICD-10/CPT/HCPCS, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of medical billing experience, preferably physician/practice billing.
• Strong experience with A/R, EOBs/ERAs, payment posting, denials, appeals, and insurance follow‑up.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurance.
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.
• Basic accounting knowledge, including reconciliations and financial accuracy.
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, mathematical, and organizational skills.
• eClinicalWorks (ECW) experience preferred.
• Previous remote‑work experience preferred.
• Must pass typing and 10-key assessments.

• Investigate billing and payment discrepancies and resolve issues with insurance companies and patients.

• Answer the dedicated billing line and assist patients with billing questions.
• Use payer portals, clearinghouses, EHR/practice management systems, and Microsoft Office.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and support department goals.

Compensation and Benefits

Bloom Healthcare offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, including:

• Pay range: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
