Breckinridge Health, Inc. is seeking an Insurance Clerk for its Irvington Primary Care location in Hardinsburg, KY. This in-office role supports medical billing and coding tasks, verification of invoices, and handling patient billing inquiries.

The successful candidate will follow up on claims, maintain records, and assist with daily financial operations. A high school diploma or GED is required, with at least 1 year of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience in medical billing and coding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify invoice information and maintain third party billing records.
• Follow up on submitted claims and patient billing; resubmit claims or resolve problems.
• Handle cash items and accounts receivable posting as needed.
• Process billings to patients and third party reimbursement claims; maintain documentation.
• Process patient statements, input data, post transactions, and verify input accuracy.
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding billing issues via phone and written correspondence.
• Follow up on submitted claims; monitor unpaid claims and resubmit as necessary.
• Balance daily batches and reports; prepare income reports and distribute them.
• Maintain patient demographic information and data collection systems.
• Contribute to development of organizational procedures and update forms and manuals.
• Ensure confidentiality of financial records and work collaboratively in a team.
