Job summary

Encompass Medical Group in Lenexa, KS, is seeking a full-time Insurance Clerk (Medical Payment Poster) to join our administrative team. The role posts insurer payments to patient accounts, performs follow-up and corrections on claims, and handles patient calls.

Hours are 8:00am–4:30pm, Monday through Friday, with a supportive office environment and opportunities to grow in medical billing. Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, 1 year of medical billing/insurance posting

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Medical billing experience or completion of medical billing coursework preferred.
• 1 year experience of medical billing and insurance posting required.
• Experience working in a professional office setting.
• Previous experience working with United Healthcare insurance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Re-works claims that have been returned for additional information.
• Posts payment information to patient account profile.
• Handles all incoming patient calls.

Position Summary:

The Insurance Clerk (Medical Payment Poster) is responsible for posting payments from the insurance companies, all follow-up and correction of claims, and taking phone calls from patients.

Position Accountabilities:

• Re-works claims that have been returned for additional information
• Posts payment information to patient account profile
• Handles all incoming patient calls

Job Specifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Medical billing experience or completion of medical billing coursework preferred
• 1 year experience of medical billing and insurance posting required
• Experience working in a professional office setting
• Previous experience working with United Healthcare insurance preferred

Job Qualifications:

• 10-key experience preferred
• Medical background preferred
• Prior professional working environment experience preferred
• Able to work well in a team setting
• Prior EMR experience preferred

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

• Some minimal lifting, (less than 10 lbs.), stooping and walking
