Evolve Psychiatry is a growing, multi-location outpatient mental health practice dedicated to providing exceptional psychiatric care while fostering a supportive and collaborative workplace for our employees.

We are seeking an experienced, highly organized, and detail-oriented Billing Manager to join our team at our Massapequa location. This position is ideal for a motivated professional with a strong background in medical billing, revenue cycle management, and team leadership.

Position Summary

The Billing Manager will oversee the daily operations of the billing department, directly supervising a team of six medical billers to ensure accurate billing, timely claim submissions, efficient payment processing, and effective resolution of outstanding accounts.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in medical billing and insurance reimbursement, strong leadership abilities, and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving billing issues. This individual will be responsible for maintaining department productivity, improving billing processes, and ensuring compliance with applicable healthcare regulations.

Essential Responsibilities

• Billing Operations & Revenue Cycle Management
• Oversee daily billing operations, ensuring timely and accurate claim submissions, payment posting, and account reconciliation.
• Manage the full revenue cycle, including claims processing, insurance followups, denial management, and accounts receivable.
• Monitor outstanding claims and aging reports to identify and resolve payment delays.
• Ensure accurate billing practices in accordance with insurance payer requirements and applicable regulations.
• Identify opportunities to improve billing efficiency, reduce claim denials, and maximize collections.

Team Leadership & Supervision

• Directly supervise, train, and support a team of six medical billers.
• Delegate responsibilities, establish daily priorities, and monitor individual and team productivity.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
• Ensure team members meet established billing standards, productivity expectations, and deadlines.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new billing department employees.
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and resultsdriven work environment.

Reporting & Compliance

• Monitor key billing performance indicators, including claim denial rates, collection rates, accounts receivable, and billing productivity.
• Prepare and present regular billing reports to practice leadership.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, insurance regulations, and organizational policies.
• Collaborate with providers, administrative staff, and management to address billing concerns and improve workflows.
• Develop and implement standardized billing procedures and internal quality control measures.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 35 years of experience in medical billing, revenue cycle management, or a related healthcare billing role.
• Previous supervisory or management experience in a medical billing department.
• Strong knowledge of insurance claims processing, denials, appeals, payment posting, and accounts receivable.
• Familiarity with commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid billing requirements.
• Understanding of medical coding, including CPT and ICD10 codes.
• Experience working with electronic medical record (EMR) and practice management systems.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problemsolving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fastpaced healthcare environment.
• Ability to work independently while effectively leading a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in psychiatry, behavioral health, or outpatient medical practice billing.
• Experience using eClinicalWorks (eCW).
• Experience managing a billing team of five or more employees.
• Knowledge of revenue cycle performance metrics and process improvement strategies.
• Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential.

Compensation & Schedule

• Starting Salary: $75,000 annually
• Schedule: MondayFriday, 9:00 AM5:00 PM
• Work Location: Massapequa, NY (fully inperson)
• Employment Type: FullTime
