Job summary

Sanderling Renal Services, Inc. is seeking a Medical Billing | Collection Specialist to manage the full billing cycle, code claims accurately, submit timely, and optimize revenue while supporting patient care.

You will follow up on denied claims, work with the A/R team, and use EMR/EHR systems to input data and track status. Knowledge of DRG, CPT, ICD-10 codes and HIPAA forms is essential. Strong attention to detail and organization will ensure compliant, error-free operations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in medical billing and coding processes.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, records management, and coding practices.
• Familiarity with DRG, CPT coding, ICD-10 and ICD coding systems.
• Knowledge of claim submission, follow-up, appeals and collections.
• Experience with EMR/EHR systems for accurate data entry and auditing.
• HIPAA claim formats, notably UB04 and HCFA-1500.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit insurance claims using DRG, CPT and ICD-10 coding to ensure proper reimbursement.
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims to maximize revenue recovery.
• Collaborate with A/R team to gather documentation and resolve billing discrepancies promptly.
• Utilize EMR/EHR systems to input data, track claims status, and update patient records.
• Maintain detailed records of billing activities, submissions, adjustments, and collections for audits.
• Stay current with changes in medical coding guidelines and healthcare regulations.
