Job summary

Nisqually Indian Tribe is seeking a skilled Medical Billing Specialist to perform complex clerical and accounting functions for patient billing. You will verify invoices, follow up on claims, and ensure accuracy of input to reports while maintaining strict confidentiality of patient information.

Responsibilities include posting payments, reconciling data, and coding visits using CPT and ICD-10. Strong knowledge of Greenway/Integrity is required, with attention to detail and the ability to work

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1 year clerical healthcare experience.
• Medical Billing Specialist Certification is required.
• WA state driver's license and insurability per tribal policy.

Responsibilities

• Process insurance payer statements and post transactions.
• Follow up on submitted claims; monitor unpaid claims and resubmit as needed.
• Receive and post third-party reimbursements and reconcile payments.
• Balance daily batches and prepare income and month-end reports.
• Maintain patient demographics and ensure eligibility and coverage.
• Maintain confidentiality of files per tribal and federal privacy laws.
• Review encounter forms for accuracy and completeness.
• Enter patient information into Greenway/Integrity and code CPT/ICD-10 correctly.
• Batch PCC forms, adjust entries, and print claim forms daily.
• Track billing and scheduling information as necessary.
