Job summary

Bee Busy Wellness Center in Houston, TX seeks a detail-oriented Medical Billing and Coder to join our growing team. You will assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes, submit claims to insurers, and monitor accounts receivable to ensure timely reimbursements.

The role requires 1+ years of billing/coding experience, proficiency with EHR and practice management software, and a solid understanding of payer guidelines to minimize denials and protect patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in medical billing and coding in a clinical or healthcare setting.
• Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• CPC, CCS, or equivalent medical coding certification preferred.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and practice management software.
• Strong knowledge of insurance billing, EOBs, and payer guidelines.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assign accurate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to patient records and medical procedures.
• Prepare and submit clean claims to insurance carriers, Medicare, and Medicaid.
• Review and resolve claim denials, rejections, and appeals in a timely manner.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments.
• Post payments, adjustments, and patient balances to accounts.
• Communicate with providers, clinical staff, and payers to clarify documentation and coding discrepancies.
• Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding claims.
