Job summary

Qualifications

• CPC certification in progress or completed.
• At least 2 years in a medical setting.

Responsibilities

• Assigns ICD diagnosis codes using compliant documentation.
• Performs pro-fee coding, data entry, and claims worklists.
• Reviews denials and supports Revenue Cycle Billing tasks.
• Assigns CPT/HCPCS codes to records with proper documentation.
• Uses coding guidelines to select accurate diagnoses.
• Researches and references literature to support coding decisions.
• Clarifies vague or ambiguous documentation with physicians as needed.
• Engages in continuing education to enhance coding knowledge.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
