Job summary

Central Coast Home Health and Hospice in San Luis Obispo is seeking a Medical Insurance Coordinator to join our billing team in the office. This full-time, on-site role focuses on verifying benefits, obtaining authorizations, and maintaining patient records.

You will collaborate with patients, insurers, and clinical staff, provide excellent service, and cover teammates as needed. We offer competitive pay and solid benefits.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of insurance eligibility, benefit verification and authorizations preferred
• Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel and Outlook
• Excellent telephone and customer service skills
• Self-directed and resourceful with ability to handle multiple tasks
• Detail oriented with ability to solve problems, manage time effectively and prioritize tasks
• Flexibility in the work environment and ability to deal with frequent change
• Team player with a professional, positive attitude and ability to cover teammates as needed

Central Coast Home Health and Hospice is a fast-growing and locally owned organization with an excellent reputation throughout San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. We are constantly growing and now seeking aMedical Insurance Coordinator to join our Billing team in the San Luis Obispo office. Not Remote

Work schedule: Full-time hours, Monday through Friday onsite in San Luis Obispo office

Main Duties:

• Verify Insurance benefits, request insurance authorization for services, and update patient charts.
• Communicate with patients, insurances, MD offices, clinical staff and co-workers to verify, confirm, and obtain information that may affect billing.
• Cover for teammates with similar responsibilities when they are on vacation or out sick.

Requirements:
