Job summary

Peyton Resource Group seeks an experienced Insurance & Patient Accounts Receivable Supervisor to oversee daily medical billing, insurance follow-up, and AR operations within a healthcare environment. This role supervises a team, monitors productivity and quality, and resolves escalated claims issues.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in medical claims, healthcare AR, and leadership, with the ability to improve workflows and support efficient revenue cycle operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in medical claims processing, billing, or healthcare revenue cycle operations.
• At least 1 year of supervisory, management, or team lead experience.
• Experience with healthcare Accounts Receivable and insurance follow-up.
• Strong understanding of Medicare guidelines, insurance claims regulations, and payer requirements.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet productivity deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of the Insurance and Patient Accounts Receivable team.
• Assign workloads, monitor productivity, and ensure departmental performance goals are met.
• Oversee insurance follow-up, outstanding claims, denials, and accounts receivable processes.
• Prepare, review, and distribute AR reports to monitor collections and team performance.
• Conduct quality assurance audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Provide coaching, training, and performance evaluations for team members.
• Ensure compliance with Medicare guidelines and healthcare regulations.
• Assist with payer fee schedule updates, reviews, and audits.
• Resolve escalated billing, claims, and insurance-related issues promptly.
• Support daily AR functions and assist with insurance account follow-up when needed.
• Develop and improve departmental policies, procedures, and workflows.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing discrepancies and improve revenue cycle performance.
