Medical Biller / Team Lead

Location: Linden, NJ. Employment: Full-time, on-site.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily billing operations, including claim creation, submission, follow-up, and payment posting for a range of payers.
• Guide and support billing team members, assign and monitor workloads, and ensure adherence to established policies, procedures, and performance metrics.
• Investigate and resolve denials, coordinating with insurance carriers and internal departments.
• Maintain accurate, compliant billing documentation.
• Contribute to process improvements, assist with training, and help maintain high standards of data integrity and customer service.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of medical billing concepts, including medical terminology and familiarity with insurance processes.
• Experience with claim resolution and follow-up, including working with denials and Medicare billing requirements.
• Knowledge of coding standards and regulations, including ICD-10 and related compliance practices.
• Previous experience in a medical billing role, preferably in a laboratory or healthcare setting, with team lead or supervisory responsibilities.
• Proficiency with billing software, electronic health records, and common office applications (e.g., Excel, Word).
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach, mentor, and support team members.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in medical billing/coding is preferred.
