Job summary

The Chautauqua Center in Jamestown, NY seeks a Medical Biller and/or Certified Coder to ensure accurate, timely billing and patient data input in the Patient Management system.

Key duties include reviewing procedures, obtaining insurance documentation, processing payments, resolving denied claims, and liaising with insurers. A high school diploma is required; 3–5 years billing experience and EHR knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of medical billing/office experience preferred.
• Knowledge of FQHC billing and CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 is preferred.
• Strong communication and organization skills; bilingual helpful.

Responsibilities

• Process input of patient data and billing entries as directed.
• Obtain documentation for insurance verification/billing.
• Process payments and assist patients with billing questions.
• Resolve denied/pending claims and liaise with insurers.
• Transmit coded information to payers and send patient statements.
