Job summary

Caring Hearts Homecare in Wilmington, MA is hiring a full-time Medical Biller. The role requires self-drive, responsibility, professionalism, and teamwork as you manage claims submissions and AR for home health billing. In-person work supports collaboration with the team and administrators.

The ideal candidate will handle Medicaid/MassHealth and commercial insurance, maintain confidential records, and ensure HIPAA compliance while improving cash flow and accuracy of billing reports.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and use of Waystar preferred.
• Must have knowledge of Home Health claims billing.
• Experience with Medicare, MassHealth and other Commercial Insurances.
• Proficient with Word and Excel; able to create and maintain documents.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit accurate claims.
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims.
• Insurance verification.
• Maintain and update patient billing records.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of patient information.
• Post payments to accounts, reconcile payments, address discrepancies.
• Generate and analyze billing reports to monitor payments and aging.
• Manage AR >90 days and ensure timely denial documentation.
• Participate in collection activities for problem accounts.
• Review billing reports monthly with Administrator or designees.
• Perform other office duties as required.

• Must have billing experience for Medicare, MassHealth and other Commercial Insurances.
• Must have computer experience - Microsoft Word and Excel, able to create and maintain documents.
• Must be reliable and dependable.
• Must be organized and able to multitask efficiently.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit accurate claims.
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims.
• Insurance Verification.
• Maintain and update patient billing records.
• Ensure that all billing practices comply with relevant healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Post payments to patient accounts, reconcile payments, and ensure discrepancies are addressed promptly.
• Generate and analyze billing reports to monitor the accuracy and timeliness of payments, including aging reports and claim status reports.
• Manages the AR for and assure prompt resolution of AR >90 days
• Manages and assures that all denial documentation is collected and sent in a timely manner.
• Participates in all collection activities of problem accounts.
• Reviews and analyzes all billing reports on a monthly basis with the Administrator and/or Designees.
• Perform other office duties as required.
