Job summary

Sedgwick is hiring a Medical Bill Processor to input and maintain provider demographics, contract data, and detailed medical bills in our systems. This entry‑level role emphasizes accuracy, keyboarding speed, and the ability to work efficiently in a high‑volume environment.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: One (1) year of general office experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

This is a detail-oriented data entry position supporting our medical bill review operations. The primary responsibility is the accurate input and maintenance of provider demographics, contract information, and medical bill details within our systems. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, keyboarding accuracy, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-volume production environment. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
  • To code provider bills; to enter pre-coded billing data into the system; and to verify the output.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITIES MAY INCLUDE:
  • Keys pre-coded billing data into the system.
  • Identifies and forwards complex bills to claims examiners.
  • Codes provider bills in accordance with claims management system notes and state guidelines.
  • Follows workers compensation/auto guidelines to evaluate the services.
  • Compares qualifications of service provider with service provided.
  • Involved in system maintenance/file maintenance and interface with IT department.
  • Assists in account batching and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Answers customer service calls from providers, clients and claims examiners.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education & Licensing - High School diploma or GED required.
  • Experience - One (1) year of general office experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Work environment requirements may include:

As required by law, Sedgwick provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in jurisdictions requiring pay transparency in job postings. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and cost of specific location. For the jurisdiction noted in this job posting only, the range of starting pay for this role is $21.00- $22.00/hr.
