Shriners Children’s in Medford, OR, is seeking a PRN Medical Assistant to join the pediatric orthopedic Outpatient Department. The role supports family-centered care under supervision, performing direct patient care and assisting with clinic operations.

The ideal candidate will hold a High School Diploma or GED and be a Certified Medical Assistant with BLS. Preferred candidates may have an Associate Degree and EMR experience, with pediatric/ambulatory care exposure.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.

Responsabilités

• Performs direct patient care in pediatric outpatient clinic per Standards of Care.
• Obtains patient history and vital signs.
• Prepares and maintains examination and treatment areas.
• Obtain and chart growth measurements per clinic protocol.
• Lab work completed the same day as ordered.
• Assist with supplies and equipment; notify supervisor when new equipment is needed.
• Apply non-corrective casts as directed by physician.
• Remove casts, cleanse patient and instruct family on skin care.

Job Description

We currently have an opening for a PRN Medical Assistant to join our Medford, OR team. Staff MA functioning in a specialty role accountable for providing comprehensive, family-centered care to patients and families in the pediatric orthopedic Outpatient Department. Provides the highest possible level of comprehensive care to Outpatient Clinic patients and their families under the direction of the Manager, Clinical Coordinator, or RN.

Key Responsibilities:

• Performs all aspects of direct patient care according to current Outpatient Clinic "Standards of Care." Documents interventions per policyand lists plan consistently
• Obtains patient history and vital signs
• Prepares and maintains exam and treatment areas
• Obtains and graphs patient’s weight, height, arm span, and head circumference according to Outpatient Clinic "GrowthChart Graphing (Plotting)"
• Lab work completed the same day ordered
• Assists with monitoring supplies and equipment with PCA/cast tech. Maintains equipment and notifies supervisor/manager when new equipment is needed
• Applying non-corrective casts at physician’s direction
• Safely removing casts, cleans patient, covers affected limb and instructs family on skin care

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Certified Medical Assistant
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

• RMA, CCMA, NCMA
• 1 year Pediatric/Ambulatory Care
• EMR Systems

Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
