Job summary

Shriners Children’s is seeking a PRN Medical Assistant to join the Medford, OR team. You will provide comprehensive, family-centered care in the pediatric orthopedic Outpatient Department under supervision.

The role requires CMA credential and BLS, with strong focus on patient interaction and accurate documentation. Responsibilities include vital signs, history gathering, exam prep, growth chart plotting, and supporting casts under physician direction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certified Medical Assistant credential required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Preferred: 1 year Pediatric/Ambulatory Care experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs direct patient care in Outpatient Clinic per standards of care.
• Documents interventions per policy and records plans.
• Obtains patient history and vital signs.
• Prepares and maintains exam and treatment areas.
• Graphs growth measurements as applicable in pediatric clinic.
• Laboratory work completed the same day when ordered.
• Assists with supplies and equipment management.
• Maintains equipment and notifies when replacements are needed.
• Assists with casts and post-cast care under physician direction.
• Instructs families on skin care after cast removal.
