Job summary

The Adjunct Instructor for Medical Assisting at CCD supports student success across CCD’s Medical Assisting Program. This position teaches medical assisting and phlebotomy courses, including lecture, lab and internship components. The assignment may include online and in-person daytime and evening courses.

The role reports to the Program Chair and collaborates with faculty to align teaching with program outcomes and college expectations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in medical assisting or related field.
• Current CMA, RMA, NCMA, or CCMA credential.
• Experience: 4000 hours in the field within the last five years.

Responsibilities

• Teach Medical Assisting and Phlebotomy courses, including lecture, lab and internships.
• Prepare and deliver high-quality instruction aligned with program outcomes.
• Maintain D2L course shells, gradebooks, attendance and student records.
• Provide equity-minded, clear and supportive feedback.
• Collaborate with faculty and Program Chair to ensure consistency across courses.
