Job summary

The State of Georgia invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor, Medical Assisting. The instructor will teach medical assisting courses in the Allied Health department, prepare lesson plans, and develop curriculum; work may occur at multiple college locations under supervision.

Candidates should have a Diploma in Medical Assisting with at least three years of relevant experience, and CMA or RMA certification or eligibility.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Medical Assisting with at least three years of relevant work experience.
• Current RMA (AMT) or CMA (AAMA) certification or eligible for certification.
• Preferred: Associate’s degree and three years in ambulatory healthcare with teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach medical assisting courses in the Allied Health department.
• Prepare lesson plans, develop curriculum, and evaluate student progress.
• Maintain required documentation and participate in professional development.
• Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
• May teach at multiple locations and schedule day/evening classes.
